Remains

Opening Reception and ArtWalk: Thursday, July 8 from 6:00-9:00 pm
Themes of identity, home and the use of textiles as repositories of human values and knowledge are reflected in this exhibition that features artwork by Deanna Rowley and Arlene Westen Evans. Deanna Rowley's textile work integrates rusted objects no longer in service such as farm implements and cast iron pots, which speak of history, culture, labour and change. Arlene Westen Evans expresses her art through techniques and processes, which have been traditionally synonymous with craft and the decorative arts such as stitchery, repeat imagery and surface embellishments. This exhibit features a clothesline installation, a video loop and a performative element.
